Blu Tek Diving

Suitable for every level, from Beginer to expert. Depending on the current. It could be the easiest dive or very committing. There is somthing for everyones taste.

Starting from inside the nice bay, one follows the N coast keeping the rocks on the right-side. The rocks form a small wall first, then become more chaotic. A small, quite narrow in height cavern opens up just outside the bay.

South of the elongated Palumbo rock that breaks the surface, between 15 and 18 m lies the wreck of the Carmelo Lo Porto cargo, which sank here on June, 23, 1971 while transporting salt. The stern is intact and quite attractive, while other pieces are scattered around. No real penetration possible.

Punta Negra is a small cape overlooking the Gulf of Macari behind St. Vito. The navigation to reach to the dive site runs along the entire Capo.Boat is moored a few meters from the coast on a rocky bottom of about 5m. Divers move away towards the open sea through a shallow canyon where it is easy to find octopus's dens, after the canyon is the edge the lead to two steps first to 12mt. and after about 25m., Divers will keep the wall on the left while the depth increases, for divers with advanced license maximum planned depth is 40 meters. But Punta Negra is a dive very beautiful even without reaching the limits of recreational diving. The walls of Punta Negra ( are more than one) are very spectacular and so beautifull that needs more then one dive to be visited, walls are perpendicular and the sea bed is beyond the limits of recreational diving. In the deepest part of the dive you can also see beautiful colonies of red fancorall.

In the Tonnara's Gulf a bit far away from the coast from a bottom of about 40/50mt this shoal rise up with its top at about 10 mt.depht. The shoal is huge and there are several paths you can follow for diving and all of them allow to encounter high concentration of life. Eels, congers, lobsters, crabs and shrimp in every hole. Groupers and snappers use to swim where the stream split on the shoal and suddely may appear jack fishes hunting some unlucky prey ( watch the video ). The Secca di Cala Rossa is one of the most beautiful and enjoyable dives in the area, marked by the ancient anchors of the old Tuna factory, in the deeper end are a couple of small caves where the shrimps are concentrated in large numbers.

The entire Tuna Factory's bay has several underwater cliff, walls that a few meters from the shore goes down to a depth of about 40 meters . Next to the Tuna factory there is one of these walls . In this case after having anchored on a plateau at about 9 meters deep the seabed slopes gently with areas of rock and sea grass , here we often encounter squid , octopus and moray eels. The entrance to the cavern is at the base of a wall full of life and and is indicated by a rock completely encrusted with orange sponges . Inside the cavern there is a large amount of red shrimps and often large redfish and mustelle expect on the bottom for eating shrimps that comes too close. After the cave diving continues up the wall to a step in about 30 mt depth the step ends few meters leading to another wall that allows us to go back from about -27 mt to -18 mt . on the same plateau where the boat is anchored .
