Blue Waters Dive Cove

Hondoq Bay is a shallow bay on the southeast of Gozo and is ideal for courses and introduction dives. A suitable dive for inexperienced divers. You will find a sandy bottom, water pipeline, and arches to the east. There is a hidden inlet with a small cave to the west. Depth ranges from 5 to 12m.

One of the hidden gems of Gozo, Hondoq Reef is the perfect second dive of the day. Shallow, with plenty of light and life, the reef has a myriad of arches, overhangs, and swim-throughs for divers to explore. This reef is a photographer’s dream due to the lighting, different textures, and ample life found here.

Santa Marija caves is one of the two dives during our Full Day Boat Trip to Comino. It is a shallow and easy cave/cavern system safe and fun even for less experienced divers. At the end of the dive you’ll be encountered by a huge school of friendly sea breams that alaways awaits our boat to come.

Once in the water descend following the wall of the reef until you will find the entrance to Alex Cave, if you have time, investigate the small cracks and nooks and explore the marine life on the way down. The Alex Cave dive has a very nice swim through and an excellent 40 meter long L-shaped internal cave with octopus and the rare Pearly Razor Fish seen here on the sandy areas. If you explore the boulders just as you enter Alex Cave you can also spot Moray eels and Conga eels. If you have time, see the steep drop-off with a large arch on the left outside Alex Cave. Bringing a torch along is recommended

Due to its captivating cave systems, it is a very popular dive site. There are at least 10 caves that are known of today which divers can explore. Each has it’s own distinct features and beauty and no cave is the same. There are some which offer swim throughs, underwater tunnels and others have beautiful blue waters through their entrances. These caves are not only ideal for divers, but also for snorkelers since most of the caves are quite shallow and also most are half out of the water, so snorkelers can come up for air. For the underwater photographers this is a playground not to be missed! These caves are also very abundant with marine life like damselfish, moray eels, spiny lobsters, crabs, octopus, nudibranch, and mullets. There are alos Banded Sea Bream that just love it when they are fed some bread and will swarm up to the surface to eat.
