Super divesite with plenty of fish. This submerged pinnacle is completely covered in softcorals and anemones and home to a great variety of species.

Anemone Reef is a submerged pinnacle with its top around 5 m underwater, giving this dive site its Thai name “Hin Jom”. Its located 1,5 hour boat drive from Chalong but only 20 mins from Elixir Divers centre! Its English name is similarly straightforward – sea anemones dwell in stunningly dense populations in the shallow areas, presenting an amazing view of sea’s own version of the living carpet. Because of the quantity, quality and the variety of marine life that lives in the beautiful soft coral and sea fans that cover the pinnacle, Anemone Reef is the choice site for naturalist courses and is no doubt a favourite among photographers as well. Anemone fish and clownfish are common, as are big schools of snapper that cloud the pinnacle. Schools of yellowtail barracuda are also often seen circling the rock, together with groupers, oriental sweetlips, scorpionfish and soldierfish that flit among corals, cracks and crevices. Small critters such as tiger-tail seahorses are also found here on occasion. This is a relatively easy dive. Going around the pinnacle should pose no problems except in strong currents, so we try scheduling the dive time near slack tide to get the most our of this dive site. Shark Point is one of Phuket’s most popular dive sites. The three pinnacles of the Shark Point break the surface in a small area. The rest is submerged and covered in soft and hard corals. This is a great drift dive. You can frequently spot leopard sharks and bamboo sharks here, hence the name.

Shark Point was originally named for the frequent sightings of leopard sharks in the area, although probably in recent years there are more leopard sharks seen around the dive sites of Phi Phi a little further to the east. Shark Point is located close to Anemone Reef and the King Cruiser Wreck, about 28km east of Phuket. The dive site includes several underwater pinnacles. The northern pinnacle breaks the surface, but the small dark rock that sticks up gives no clue of the colourful soft corals below water. Most dives start near the first pinnacle where you can descend by a line or free-descend to a maximum depth of about 24 meters. Dives will depend on currents which run north-south in this area. If current is heading north you may start at pinnacle 2, which starts about 6 – 7 meters below the surface.

King Cruiser is rated as one of the best wreck dive sites in Asia, certainly Thailand. Having sank on May 4th in 1997 this is an amazing wreck dive sitting at over 30m, the top of the wreck is now around 18m. Suitable for Advanced and technical divers. Large Schools of fish and beautiful coral.
