Finding Scuba

The swimming pool at Ipswich High School measures 13m by 25m with a maximum depth of 1.8m, it provides plenty of space for diver training and swimming.

The Rosalie was torpedoed in 1915 and now sits just off Weybourne Beach at a depth of approx. 8 meters. She is a lovely dive and covered in life such as crabs, anemones, sponges, and fish. It is easiest to do the dive at low tide slack water.

The Rosalie was torpedoed in 1915 and now sits just off the beach in a depth of approx. 8 metres. She is a lovely dive and covered in life such as crabs, anemones, sponges and fish. It must be dived during slack water and is easiest to do the dive at Low Tide slack water as the mast is visible above water level so you can find it easily. How to do the dive: Park in Weybourne beach car park and walk west (left) along the beach for about 600 metres until you are level with the wreckage that sticks out of the water around low tide. Surface swim out to it then drop down. The visibility only clears up for the Summer season (usually July to end of October). It is a long walk along a shingle beach, and a 10 minute surface swim to the wreck, so if you find any aspect of diving physically challenging this is not the dive site for you!

A quarry at the local St Andrews Diving center. A place for everyone with access from the beach and from the pier. Gases and equipment rental are available on these place.
