Fulidhoo Dive & Water Sports

The back reef of Fulidhoo extends over roughly 4km from west to east. The central part features a sloping reef with magnificent table corals on the top and wide overhangs from a depth of 15m to beyond 30m. The area between the caves and top reef is full of marine life.

A small Giri with an abundance of corals, reef life and names, eg. Floral Garden, Teabag-Giri or Aquarium. The top of the reef starts at 1m at low tide and extends down to 20m+ on certain parts of the seamount. Most of the days you will be able to go around the whole circular reef as the currents are small.

Farukolhu Kandu (Fulidhoo Channel), a short boat ride from Fulidhoo, is a drift dive for all levels of divers. The reef is situated on a shallow channel, between 8 to 30 m.

The third channel to the west of Fulidhoo offers a great dive to see big fish during incoming currents at both channel entrances. The south side has larger overhangs and cavities starting at 10m down to 30m+ moving further into the channel. Along the reef edge you will mostly find grey reef- and white-tip sharks.

Miyaru Kandu is a fascinating channel dive in the Maldives that features many small caves on both sides of the channel and numerous overhangs. The entire channel has been declared a protected marine area. This memorable drift dive is experienced on an incoming current, however even with an outgoing current divers are likely to get a lot of action, though the visibility is not so good. The south side passage of the site contains many large rocks covered with soft corals and teeming with reef fish. On the north side of the channel there is a cave 33m/108ft deep, which is ideal for spotting grey reef sharks. There are also many caves and overhangs at deeper depths on the outside of the reef. This location is ideal for underwater photography.

South west corner of Rihiveli island. This divesite at the corner of the wide channel is a perfect place to observe grey reef sharks. Can be dived with outgoing and incoming current. Offers beautiful overhangs teaming with life.
