Papua Explorers is a PADI 5 Star Dive Center providing a plethora of scuba and free diving excursions. Set at the heart of the Coral Triangle, Raja Ampat is world renowned for its high bio-diversity and pelagic sea life. Such a diversity of life is largely due to the area’s nutrient-rich waters created by fast moving currents. This dive center is a great location for advanced open water divers, as a higher level of experience will allow you to explore more of the underwater world and trust that your buoyancy skills will protect the precious marine environment. Papuan Explorers strive to train and employ a majority of Papuans across all departments of the dive operation. There are 11 skilled Indonesian dive guides, 5 multinational instructors, a freediving (and yoga) instructor, 10 experienced boat captains, 10 boat crew members and a couple of compressor technicians. All dives are expertly planned to take you on an underwater adventure without the need for a deco stop, though dive computers are mandatory. In the case of emergency, a state of the art Hyperbaric chamber is now available in Waisai (45 minutes away via boat).
