We Be Divin

Monkey Point is a great site for snorkeling. We chose this as a site because we had a lot of non-divers on our charter for the week. Twenty feet is about the deepest you’ll go.

The famous floating bar/restaurant was grounded by Hurricane Irma in 2017. Cleaned up and decorated by non-profit group Beyond the Reef it was sunk in August 2019 to provide a fun, interactive dive site. Great for photos - you can walk the plank, have a drink at the bar but watch out for sword-fighting pirates!

If you only have time for one dive trip in the BVI, it's the RMS Rhone. Numerous artifacts that were deposited on October 29, 1867 are still visible today. You can also see where the 1977 classic movie "The Deep" was filmed and swim through the bow section.

A quick 2-minute boat ride from Scrub Island, this site is named as a result of a diver losing a diamond ring here about 10 years ago (never found). The reef itself is a small “wall” some 200 yards long. This site is ideal for all levels of divers and snorkelers, accessible in nearly all weather.

As good as intact, the bow of the RMS Rhone lays on her side. Diving here will show you a home to lobsters, barracudas and turtles. Resembling a true wreck, she is a gem. And who does not want to escape the wreck like Jacquelyn Bisset did in the movie “The Deep.” An amazing addition to the dive on the bow, as both contrast each other amazingly. Blown up from the inside out, she lays spread out on the bottom. An abundance of marine life will guide you from artifacts like the dance floor and the lucky port hole straight into the propeller swim through.

An exposed pinnacle just off Cooper Island, Vanishing Rock is home to some of the largest pillar coral in the BVI. Inside the pillar coral you can find large numbers of sergeant majors. Around the next corner you will find tornadoes of horse-eye jacks swirling in the current.
