Florida Springs Scuba

The Devil’s Den pond is a shallow site for divers to explore the murky water. This pond is comprised of a 1.5 acre man made pond for swimming and snorkeling.

Don't let the name fool you, Devil’s Den is not a hot spring. The water temp is a constant 22°C/72°F year-round. Devil's Den is a geological formation known as a karst fenster (karst window). The diving area is actually a subterranean river, and the steam that rises through the "window" on cold winter morning is how the dive site got its name. Underwater you'll see a surprising number of curious fish including guppies, crappies, catfish and turtles. Divers can explore swim-throughs and ancient rock formations including fossil beds dating back 33 million years. Animal remains from camels, dire wolves, mastodons, and saber-toothed cats have been discovered here. The crystal clear water is 15 metres/50 feet deep with gorgeous sunbeams streaming in overhead. Dive the largest clear water cavern in the heart of freshwater spring country in Williston, Florida. The Blue Grotto lets you dive down to a depth of 100 feet in crystal clear water with a consistent temp of 72 degrees F all year round! A popular training dive site.

15 minutes outside of Ocala, FL. This dive site is operated by Commercial Diving Academy since 2006. This site is mainly used for commercial dive training and while it is technically open (due to contractual requirements), the entry fee has been set at $200 to discourage recreational divers.

Sitting about 100 miles north of Tampa, Rainbow River is a jewel of a dive site in the middle of Florida. Crystal clear, as it’s fed from a natural spring, this river is full of unique freshwater fish, turtles, and alligators.

KP Hole is a Florida County park open to divers and snorkelers to explore the spring-fed Rainbow River. This is a spring-fed dive so water temps will be 72 degrees year-round and the water will be very clear. This site has great amenities like concessions for food, showers, and restrooms. Admission is $15.00.
