Marina Diving Center

The wreck of the “San Guglielmo“ is a luxurious 1st class passenger ship that launched in 1911. It travelled the Italy-America route. Used as a troop transport, it was sunk on 08.01.1918 by a German submarine. It now lies on a sandy bottom at 29 meters.

Wreck of a French transport ship sunk on a seabed of 50 meters in navigation position with the deck at around 42 metres, intact on the stern part and cracked on the bow part, this is clearly visible in the vertical position, two large open holds make it passable the entire wreck.

A dive dedicated to beginners on a seabed that extends over a discreet extension between 14 and 24 meters where the best-known feature is a spectacular rock pyramid entirely covered in Parazoanthus.

We are in Finale Ligure not far from the port, there is the Marassi shoal with a minimum depth of 24 m. maximum 35 m. a large panettone with a wall about 10 meters high towards the south-west and with a gentle slope towards the north-west, the cap from which the dive normally begins and ends is large and jagged.

Sciusciaù (the Blower) is the southeastern cape of the island, which owes its name to the hissing of the wind that channels itself into the folds of the rock. It is, in our opinion, the most unique and fascinating dive on the island with high biological and photographic interest.

L'attività subacquea presso l'isola era stata proibita[10] per via della presenza di ordigni bellici inesplosi sul fondale e per via della presenza di un relitto (44°01′00.7″N 8°13′00.5″E) risalente al XVIII secolo. Una successiva ordinanza[11] ha consentito le immersioni subacquee accompagnate dalle guide locali dei diving center convenzionati. Sui fondali e sulle pareti si possono trovare margherite di mare, spugne gialle (talvolta anche di grosse dimensioni[12]), rare Chaetaster longipes[12] e una grande abbondanza[12] di vita bentonica. In particolare l'isola presenta due punti di immersione: Cristo redentore o punta Falconara (44°01′24.75″N 8°13′33.96″E) Nel fondale circostante l'isola è stata posata una statua di Cristo il 29 settembre 1998. L'immersione è piuttosto semplice e poco profonda, fino al massimo di 18 metri[13], a meno di voler proseguire oltre un gradone per immergersi fino ai 22 metri[4]. La fauna bentonica è abbondante e caratterizzata da notevoli colonie di nudibranchi[4], mentre oltre il gradone si trovano abbondanti margherite di mare. Punta Sciusciau (44°01′34.08″N 8°13′44.77″E) Dai 15 ai 30 metri[4], non presenta alcuna difficoltà particolare, fatta eccezione per la profondità e, talvolta, per la corrente. È frequente l'osservazione di esemplari di buone dimensioni di cernie, murene, polpi e scorfani e, verso i 30 metri di profondità, di spugne anche di grosse dimensioni
