Car Pile (The Dive Bus House Reef)
Mambo Beach, Willemstad, CuraçaoAbout this dive site
Explore the water around Willemstad
The barge carrying cars and trucks from the 50s, were sunk in the early 70s to create an artificial reef and encourage marine life back into the area. The cars and trucks are now totally integrated into the reef - look out for moral eels swimming through car headlamps, and check out your reflection in the chrome bumpers... Car Pile starts at approx 45 ft / 13m and gets increasingly interesting the deeper you go so watch your depth! Explore the shallow reef on your way back for a super-long and very pretty safety “go”. Easy, sandy entry at The Dive Bus house reef, Pierbaai

Very nice reef! Lots of life. Very easy shore diving here, just across the street from the Dive Bus. They do nightdives here as well. There can be a small drift sometimes. Fun for both shallow and deep dives. I actually did my deep dive specialty on this reef.
