About this dive shop

COMO Cocoa Island offers access to famous dive sites Kandooma Caves and shark cleaning station Cocoa Thila. Diver depart daily on spacious, shaded and powerful vessels with the resident marine biologist on board. Refreshments are offered during the surface interval. All equipment is prepared, loaded onto the boat, offloaded, rinsed and stored your behalf. Facilities include a shop, rental equipment, storage facility, fish ID books, air-conditioned classroom and fresh water showers. Recreational PADI courses are offered, including specialities such as underwater photographer, drift diver or nitrox. The dive team are multilingual and share a wealth of local diving experience. Night dives depart regularly.

Cocoa Inside starts at the end of Cocoa Corner and offers a reef dive suitable for those less comfortable with currents or looking for relaxed diving. Moving further inside, the current softens while the area remains rich in marine life. A coral wall slopes down from 5 m to 25 m.

Nice channel dive with many overhangs between 8 and 19 meters. Some overhangs collapsed long time ago and now lay on the bottom of the channel as huge blocks covered with amazing corals and fish life. Torch highly recommended. Many turtles seen here!

Kandooma Thila

Dive site

Kandooma Thila, or also called Cocoa Thila, is one of the most exciting dives in South Male’ Atoll with great scenery as well as prolific fish life. The west and north side are the most spectacular, with the top at 16m. These are a focal point for schools of Bluefin Trevallies, eagle rays, dogtooth tunas and loose groups of gray reef sharks (50+ in the right current). Cleaning station for grey reef , you can see them going in a vertical position while small wrasses are cleaning them. Currents can be very strong making it a challenging dive. For experienced divers only.

Nice channel dive with many overhangs in around 20 meters depth. One of the overhangs at 20 meters has an opening at the ceiling with a window at 10 meters. Torch highly recommended. Many turtles seen here!

Cocoa corner can be dived both with incoming and outgoing current. Incoming is generally considered the best, with loads of grey reef sharks patrolling the blue at the entry of the pass.With outgoing current, a couple of detached coral blocks makes an interesting dive, with nurse sharks, grey reefs and stingrays
