Deep Sensations Freediving

Martin Island is home to a colony of Australian Fur Seals. They congregate here during when the cooler water comes through. The max depth is 25m, but the seals play around on the surface to the bottom so there is plenty to see no matter your certification level.

The SS Tuggerah sunk in 1919, and now rests on its port side at a maximum depth of almost 48 metres off Wattamolla in Royal National Park. The Tuggerah is ideal for technical divers, and is chock-filled with abundant fish life. The first thing you will see upon descending is fish. The bullseye, yellowtail, and grouper make it virtually impossible to see the wreckage. Once you have anchored the boat at the bottom of the ocean and secured the dive site, look around. The fish life will be so prolific that you will have to be as close as two meters to actually see the boilers. The boilers are almost perfectly intact and often home to very large wobbegong sharks. Time seems to fly at this depth and there is so much to see, although the visibility is normally quite good, with most dives having visibility of 15 metres or more, it is hard to appreciate what the wreck offers because of the fish life obstructing your view.

The site is one of the best shore dives on the NSW south coast. With at least 3 Blue Devil Fish living in and around a small cave. At max depth of 22 meters & a short swim out to the cave you have plenty of time to take in the marine life on your way out & back. Entry point is at The Gutter.

A great dive site for all levels of experience. With a depth between 18 and 22 meters and a lot of area covered with vegetation, you can always find some interesting animals.

The Gutter is an entry point to one of the best dives at Bass Point. Jumping off the rocks into 4 meters of water and swimming north you hitting a 10 meter rock. From here you can venture out to many spots or just hang out in The Gutter itself.

A dive along this jetty and around its end can be very productive. You can sometimes see grey nurse sharks who make this there home over the summer. You can also find banded coral shrimp in a cut off pylon and lionfish in the summer.
